The Waldenburg Castle was the princely residence of the Schönburg-Waldenburg family until 1945 and is now owned by the district of Zwickau.
During a guided tour, visitors will experience an impressively designed castle with festive halls, a library, mirror, Gobelin and Chinese rooms as well as a castle chapel and restored living rooms.
The festive halls and the library can be rented for special celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, company celebrations, conferences and concerts. The castle chapel provides a festive setting for civil and church weddings. It could be also used for following wedding photos.

Waldenburg castle comes to life - Prince Günther of Schönburg-Waldenburg and his wife Hertha introduce themselves on the new multimedia trail of Castle Waldenburg. Portals open to bygone times and a magic book is filled with life. Guests get to knowPrince Günther of Schönburg-Waldenburg personally at a total of 12 multimedia stations and can even have their photos taken 'next to him'.
Use a tablet to explore the multmedia trail on your own. You will experience the Prince using state-of-the-art technology at three virtual reality (VR) stations and you will have the opportunity to browse through our magic book (an interactive projection book).

With the help of VR-goggles you climb beyond the donjon and enjoy a captivating balloon ride over the entire castle complex. Deceptively real you experience this 3-minute flight.
